Jackets finish in three-way tie for 3rd

Georgia Tech improves from a 10th place finish last year to a three-way tied for 3rd with Duke and Pittsburgh.

When the tiebreakers are sorted out (which only matter for determining the champion or tournament seeds), Tech winds up 5th.

The coaches nailed 1-2 with their pre-season prediction of North Carolina and Florida State at the top of the conference.

The biggest 'disappointments' based on the coaches' preseason predictions are Miami (coaches: 3rd, actual: 7th) and Louisville (coaches: 4th, actual: 9th). Miami lost their setter to injury early and needed most of the season to adjust. Louisville ended up with their coach resigning after falling to 9th after winning the ACC last year.

The biggest 'surprises' are Duke (coaches: 6th, actual: T-3rd) and Georgia Tech (coaches: 7th, actual: T-3rd). Both Duke and Tech played good team volleyball all season long. Both are one or two more signature wins from being easy invitees to the NCAA Tournament.
