Pitt ends streak

Georgia Tech couldn't handle the Pitt serves in the first two sets and ultimately fell 22-25, 18-25, 25-22, 24-26 Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. The loss ended Tech's 10-match winning streak and extended Pitt's to five. The Jackets may have been perfect against Tigers this season, but couldn't find a way to defeat Panthers.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst led the front row with 18 kills, hitting .317. Junior outside Gabriela Stavnetchei added a career-high 17 kiils to go with 10 digs.

Senior middle Sydney Wilson earned a career-high 10 blocks.

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 16 digs.

Win #20 makes it 10 straight

Georgia Tech swept Virginia Tech 25-14, 26-24, 26-24 Friday night in Atlanta. It was the team's 20th win of the season and 10th in a row this year. The 20 total wins and 11 ACC wins are Tech's best since 2010 when the Jackets finished 22-10 overall and 16-6 in the ACC. The 10-match win streak is their longest since a 21-match streak in 2004. The team has also won it's last 11 sets.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst had 15 kills and 13 digs, hitting .270. Junior middle Sydney Wilson had 9 kills and hit .533 with 4 blocks.

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 15 digs. Senior rightside Annika Van Gunst added 14 digs to go with her 6 kills.

With Florida State upset by NC State, Tech is now in a 3-way tie for 2nd place with Duke and the Seminoles.

Win over Virginia gives Tech 9-match win streak

Junior outside Gabriela Stavnetchei earned her 6th double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs to lead Georgia Tech to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 win over Virginia Friday night in Atlanta.

The win pushed Tech's win streak to 9 matches, all in October, equaling the longest streak of 2006. The Jackets' 19 wins and 10 ACC wins match their win totals from 2012 and are the most wins in a season for the current Tech roster.

With North Carolina upset by Pitt Sunday, Tech now has the longest winning streak in the conference.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst added 13 kills and senior rightside Annika Van Gunst led the back row with 12 digs.

Jackets complete sweep of Tigers; streak at 8

Junior middle Sydney Wilson had 13 kills, hitting .550, with 8 blocks and senior rightside Annika Van Gunst passed the 1000 career digs milestone as Georgia Tech swept Clemson 25-11, 25-15, 27-25 Wednesday night in Atlanta.

The win extends Tech's winning streak to 8 matches, matching their longest streak from last year. And, at 18 wins overall and 9 ACC wins, they match their win totals from last season.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst recorded her 46th career double-double with 10 kills, including the match winner, and 12 digs, which led the back row.

Rare win at Duke pushes streak to 7

A 12-year streak came to an end when Georgia Tech beat Duke 25-22, 15-25, 25-20, 26-24 in Cameron Indoor Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Tech last won at Duke on 9 Oct 2004 and extended their current winning streak to 7.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst led the offense with 18 kills and added 10 digs for her 4th double-double in a row.

Junior outside Gabriela Stavnetchei earned her 5th double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs. Senior rightside Annika Van Gunst also nabbed a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior setter Rebecca Martin rounded out the double-doubles with 45 assists and 12 digs.

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 22 digs.

The Jackets are 8-2 at the turn of the ACC season and 17-2 overall. 20 wins is certainly in view, but the second trip includes nationally-ranked Florida State and North Carolina as well as Tech's only match against Notre Dame.

30 kill night extends win streak to 6

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst had 30 of Georgia Tech's 64 kills in a 17-25, 25-23, 25-27, 25-19, 15-8 win at Wake Forest Friday night.

The 30 kills are a career-high for Van Gunst, who hit .421 and earned her 44th career double-double with 13 digs.

The win pushes Tech's winning streak to a season-high 6 matches, their longest streak since the 8-in-a-row in last season's 9-1 start.

Senior libero London Ackermann extended her career digs record with 22 more.

Senior setter Rebecca Martin picked up a season-high 51 assists

Ackermann becomes career digs leader

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 18 digs to become Georgia Tech's all-time digs leader, now with 1609, as the Jackets took care of Syracuse 25-15, 25-23, 25-18 Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. The win extended the Jackets' win streak to a season-high five matches.

Ackermann passed Jenn Beemsterboer's record early in the second set, knocking off a mark that stood for 26 years. She will finish her career well past the old record, creating a new standard that may stand for many years.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst led the offense with 18 kills, hitting .298, with 13 digs.

Martin pushes past 3000 in win

Senior setter Rebecca Martin became the 7th player in Tech history to reach 3000 assists as she and junior setter Gabby Benda directed an offense that hit .374 in a 25-14, 20-25, 25-20, 25-12 win over Boston College Friday night in Atlanta.

The victory extended the Jackets' winning streak to four matches and their streak over Boston College to 18 straight. Boston College has never won a volleyball match in the O'Keefe Gym. Tech also has three four-match win streaks this season.

Martin finished with 35 assists, pushing her to 3032 for her career. She becomes the first setter since Mary Ashley Tippins (2007-2010) to reach the 3000 assist mark.

Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst picked up her 42nd career double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs, hitting .400. Junior outside Gabriela Stavnetchei added 14 kills and 10 digs, hitting .333. Senior rightside Annika Van Gunst finished with 10 kills, hitting .435.

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 13 digs and is 4 shy of becoming Tech's career digs leader, which should happen Sunday when Tech hosts Syracuse.

Road win pushes streak to 3

A big night from senior outside Teegan Van Gunst leads to a 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 Georgia Tech win over Virginia Friday night in Charlottesville.

Tech pushed their win streak to three matches, their third streak of three or more wins this season.

Van Gunst finished with 17 kills, hitting .359, with 8 digs.

Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with 17 digs. The Tech defense held Virginia to an .093 hitting percentage (29 kills, 19 errors, 108 attempts).

Tiger dominance continues

Georgia Tech improved to 4-0 over Tigers this season with a 25-7, 25-23, 25-15 win at Clemson Wednesday night.

The Van Gunst twins led the offense with Teegan banging out 12 kills, hitting .346, while Annika added 11 kils, hitting .562. Tech hit .422 as a team.
