The fifth set of a volleyball match is a coin flip and tonight it came up tails as Georgia Tech lost at Kansas State 22-25, 25-27, 25-22, 25-16, 12-15 Saturday night to finish the weekend at 1-2.
As in most five-set matches, there were numbers for everyone.
Senior outside Teegan Van Gunst led Tech with 20 kills, hitting .183, with 15 digs. Junior outside Gabriele Stavnetchei hit another career-high with 16 kills, hitting .164, with a career-high 19 digs and her first double-double.
Senior libero London Ackermann led the back row with a career-high 32 digs. Senior rightside Annika Van Gunst also earned a career-high with 23 digs.
Tech played even with Kansas State, but the home team was able to squeeze out that extra point here and there to win the match.
